ARUBA – National flags are not just symbols of a country. Their colors and designs reflect past history and future goals. The country of Aruba will host its 36th annual Flag Day on March 18, the same way they have since their flag and national anthem were first presented in 1976.
“Our flag speaks to people and it carries very powerful connotations of our past,” said Matthew Smillie, owner of Aruba Villa Vacation Homes, which offers Aruba beach villa and beach houses for rent. “It took a long time for the country to become what it is today, which is why we celebrate this day in such a big way.”
