ARUBA - Memorial Day weekend comes to life with soulful music, great people and fun in the sun on the beautiful island of Aruba.

May 23-28, Aruba awakens your senses with the most electrifying music festival event of the year, as the 12th annual Soul Beach Music Festival gets under way. This year, Grammy award-winning artist R. Kelly will headline the festival, joining an already amazing lineup of past artists such as Sean Paul, Boys II Men, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and many more.

"Visiting Aruba during this music festival is unlike any other trip you will take this year," said Matthew Smillie, owner of Aruba Villa Vacation Homes, which specializes in Aruba beach villas. "It's a whole-body experience that will keep you coming back every year."

While not all details have been officially released, the festival typically kicks off with a welcome party, followed by a comedy night. On the third night guest artists perform and then R. Kelly will wrap up the festival on the main stage of the Nikki Beach Amphitheatre closing night. Prices for festival concerts are $70 per concert or you can buy a three-day pass for $200.

If you are considering a vacation with your family and friends, Aruba is the place to be for Memorial Day weekend, said Smillie. Aside from the concert, the island has a plethora of things to do. Whether you are an adventure seeker, a beach bum, a shopping fanatic, a golfer or a casino lover, Aruba has something for you, as the Aruba accommodation provider believes.

"There is still time for you book a villa rental, but not much, as our rentals can be booked months in advance," said Smillie. "Our company can also arrange for tickets to the festival as well as any excursions you would like to embark on while you are here, even if you are only coming to Aruba for an unforgettable golf vacation."
